We engaged in a conversation with a group of students in grades 9 and 10, discussing the vanished ecosystems that once thrived in their local area. We also explored ways in which they could contribute to the restoration of oyster reefs while presenting them with a unique opportunity for involvement.

Coffin Bay Scuba Co. has announced a scholarship initiative for 10 students residing in the Lower Eyre Peninsula. These scholarships will enable them to undergo fundamental open water diver training. Over the course of this project, these selected students will gain hands-on experience in the restoration efforts of these reefs.

The selection process for these students will take place in mid-October 2023, based on their submission of a 500-word essay detailing their personal connection to the ocean and their past experiences with it.
